Thousands left without power across NSW as rainy and windy conditions pound much of the state

Thousands of homes are without power across New South Wales as trees and powerlines come down due to the rain and damaging winds.
About 7,000 Ausgrid customers have been impacted in Sydney with another 12,5000 in the Hunter.
Power was slowly being restored to homes and businesses and would continue overnight, Ausgrid said on its social media sites.
NSW Fire and Rescue (FRNSW) said they had been inundated with calls for assistance since 5pm.
